A spin-off product is a product deriving elements of design, branding or function from an existing product, but which is itself a new distinct product.

Many spinoff products are derived from NASA inventions. NASA has the resources to push the boundaries on reasearch and innovation.

 

Today space related spinoffs are used by average people everyday. Chances are the computer you're using to read this website has had influence from a technology designed for use in space.

 

Many more spinoff technologies are likely to be created as NASA pushes the boundaries on science as we know it.
