Scratch Resistant Lenses

Scratch resistant lenses were developed by NASA through a process of applying a diamond like coating on top of plastic lenses. NASA used scratch resistant lenses in the visors of space helmets to protect astronauts. Millions of people now wear eye glasses with a scratch resistant coating everday.
