Cordless Tools

During the Apollo missions NASA needed a way to extract samples from the moon's surface. The drill would need to drill ten feet into the hard lunar surface. Most tools used cords at this point. NASA and The Black and Decker Corporation teamed up and built a drill which had an independent power source. A computer program minimized power consumption and the drill functioned perfectly. Cordless tools were realized to have many commercial applications. Today cordless tools are used by handymen, surgeons, gardeners and home designers. Cordless tools provide a wide variety of applications.
